Karmi Farm was originally known as Karmi Estate and was the family home of my mother, Deki Pulger. My mothers family has been associated with this area for over 200 years and I have been visiting Karmi all my life. My father, Ronald Frame, was a Scottish tea planter who came to this area in 1950 and met and married my mother 10 years later. My two younger brothers and myself were brought up on a tea garden that my father managed in the Darjeeling area up until 1967 after which my family left India.
